Here's why I suck....

So - I guess I need to do a three month update:
MARCH:
Spring break, and with it brought positive pregnancy tests and morning sickness beyond belief. I spent all week curled up in bed, trying to keep my insides in, and my outsides out. Back to school and work and being more tired then I think I have ever been in my whole life. (We'll see if this changes once the new baby is here). Back into theatre again - Assistant Stage Managed the Dance Concert. This involved failing asleep after eating too many jellybeans back stage. And trying to throw up quietly during performances.
APRIL:
Was suckered into Stage Managing the Student Directed One Acts. 12 shows, 12 directors, 23+/- actors. I'm screwed. THEN was suckered into running the light board as well. This was not as bad as I thought. Except for when I 'intentionally' sabotaged one of the shows. Just Kidding. Although, that's not what the director thought. Ended up missing a weekend in Indy, Dave Matthews and losing my best friend in the process. Sucks to be a theatre major. What did I get from all my hard work? An art scholarship and a theatre scholarship, and maybe I'll be able to graduate next may. Finals came and went. Two A's, a B and a C. Not too bad for not learning anything.
MAY: Getting ready for Drew to go to Iraq. Mother's day vacation in Gatlinburg turned into our other house getting robbed, but thankfully no one was hurt. Fast forward to the 19th and I'm 16 weeks pregnant, my son says monkey and my husband goes to war in 2 weeks.

Sorry for the lack of updates.

New President, and other great things in life.

Well, unless you have been living in an igloo in Alaska for the past couple of weeks you know that we FINALLY have a new president. For those of you that know me, you know that I was pretty excited about the outcome of the election, and I watched the Inauguration pretty closely. I am very excited about what Barack Obama personally means to me, as an army dependent, a student, and a mother. His face on the screen gives me hope, and the fact that he has already succeeded in fulfilling things he talked about during the campaign makes me very secure that I voted for the right guy. But, I am not the kind of person that only sees hearts and rainbows, so I am still doubtful that he will do half of the things he has promised. Right now, my main concern is what is he doing about Iraq and Afghanistan. I have friends in both of these places, and my husband can go to either one at any time, so I want to know: Is he really going to pull through and get those men and women out? I pray he does. Congratulations Barack Obama.

On a personal note: I started back at school this past week. There was some question about whether or not I was going to go back to Austin Peay, but I decided it would be a waste not to. I'm only taking three classes: Spanish 2, American History 2 and Business of Theatre, but hopefully this means I will be able to spend some more time with Alex and Drew, and not be so stressed out. So far all three classes have been challenging, but not to bad. Let's hope they stay this way.
Dave Matthews is coming to Vanderbilt!!! This has been the most exciting news I have found out this weekend. We, of course, are going, along with the Kerskis. James and I joked that him and I were going to be singing along, and dancing and Drew and jess will get bored and go to one of the Vanderbilt bars and find some hot doctors to leave us for. That's cool with me, I'll go chill with the Band after!!
Let's see, what else. I've been working on some art, a shadow box from one of my prints out of my printmaking class, I've finally started painting the plaster cast of me 37 weeks pregnant (with my 17 month old :) ), and I got some porceline from Ken that I'm going to start to throw. Oh, I'm also working on a drawing of Jess and James for Jessica's birthday next month. It's from a picture that was taken at MY wedding, but it's of the two of them and it's gorgeous, so I decided to do a giant drawing of it. As soon as it's done I will take a picture and post, as well as the stuff I worked on this semester, so that all you cyber people can see my stuff!!

Well, have a lovely week people, hopefully I will see you next!!!

New Years.

I hope everyone had a fabulous New Years and that everyone was safe. We had a small gathering at our house, which included Heather and Ben coming in from Indiana and Michelle and her son, Cody, coming up from Georgia. Heather and Michelle headed to bed shortly after 12 and Jessica and I passed out about 1 in my bed, to be woken up around 1.30 by Drew and James, then Drew and Jessica switched spots and the Kerski's went home.
We had fun and much Champagne was drank by all.
Today I have been doing some reflecting, and although I have changed a lot about myself in the past year, there are still a bunch of things I need to work on, including the way I treat some people. This is my New Years Resolution.
As far as Drew and Alex's.... who knows. I made up Alex's and that was for him to learn how to speak! Haha. I know I will be dreading this decision shortly, but for right now, I can't wait for him to speak and to start telling me great and fabulous things and for me to understand them. Right now he tells me great and fabulous things, but it comes out in Swahili, and unfortunately I don't have a translator.

So, I leave you with a picture from when Drew's parents were here for an early Christmas. Three Hosford generations.

So long, and be safe.
