Well, unless you have been living in an igloo in Alaska for the past couple of weeks you know that we FINALLY have a new president. For those of you that know me, you know that I was pretty excited about the outcome of the election, and I watched the Inauguration pretty closely. I am very excited about what Barack Obama personally means to me, as an army dependent, a student, and a mother. His face on the screen gives me hope, and the fact that he has already succeeded in fulfilling things he talked about during the campaign makes me very secure that I voted for the right guy. But, I am not the kind of person that only sees hearts and rainbows, so I am still doubtful that he will do half of the things he has promised. Right now, my main concern is what is he doing about Iraq and Afghanistan. I have friends in both of these places, and my husband can go to either one at any time, so I want to know: Is he really going to pull through and get those men and women out? I pray he does. Congratulations Barack Obama.
On a personal note: I started back at school this past week. There was some question about whether or not I was going to go back to Austin Peay, but I decided it would be a waste not to. I'm only taking three classes: Spanish 2, American History 2 and Business of Theatre, but hopefully this means I will be able to spend some more time with Alex and Drew, and not be so stressed out. So far all three classes have been challenging, but not to bad. Let's hope they stay this way.
Dave Matthews is coming to Vanderbilt!!! This has been the most exciting news I have found out this weekend. We, of course, are going, along with the Kerskis. James and I joked that him and I were going to be singing along, and dancing and Drew and jess will get bored and go to one of the Vanderbilt bars and find some hot doctors to leave us for. That's cool with me, I'll go chill with the Band after!!
Let's see, what else. I've been working on some art, a shadow box from one of my prints out of my printmaking class, I've finally started painting the plaster cast of me 37 weeks pregnant (with my 17 month old :) ), and I got some porceline from Ken that I'm going to start to throw. Oh, I'm also working on a drawing of Jess and James for Jessica's birthday next month. It's from a picture that was taken at MY wedding, but it's of the two of them and it's gorgeous, so I decided to do a giant drawing of it. As soon as it's done I will take a picture and post, as well as the stuff I worked on this semester, so that all you cyber people can see my stuff!!
Well, have a lovely week people, hopefully I will see you next!!!
